Daek · Support
This guide covers Daek setup, meal records and data management.
Getting started
Daek requires iOS or iPadOS 27 or later. Open Today and use the + button to add a meal manually, or Snap a meal for photo assistance. Review the result and confirm to save it. Browse saved meals in History and summaries in Reports.
Photo assistance is unavailable
Photo assistance needs compatible Apple Intelligence hardware, Apple Intelligence enabled, a ready on-device vision model and a supported language. Follow the status shown in Daek's setup screen. If it opens this app's system Settings page, return to the main Settings list and open Apple Intelligence & Siri. Return to Daek and choose Check again when available. Downloading system models may need a network connection. You can always choose Enter manually.
The food or portion looks wrong
Correct the food or choose a catalog match and its portion before confirming. Do not assume a photographed amount was measured. Use a manual entry when the catalog or suggestion does not match. Nutrition values come from the chosen food and portion; unknown values are not zero.
Reports show missing or partial nutrition
Drafts are excluded from logged-meal totals. A logged meal can have unknown nutrition, so a report can show partial coverage. Missing days do not mean you ate nothing. Check the date range, saved meal details and Settings → Hide energy.
How to export the journal
Open Settings → Your data → Export CSV. Choose whether to include source evidence, then choose an export destination in the system share sheet. Exported files leave Daek's protected local storage. Keep them private. Export is not automatic backup or cross-device sync; this release has no CSV import/restore workflow.
How to delete app data
Open Settings → Your data → Delete all data and confirm. This removes local journal entries, drafts, saved app photos, profile data and the shared widget snapshot. Deletion cannot be undone. If the app reports incomplete deletion, retry Delete All. Previously exported or shared files must be removed from their destinations separately. Daek cannot remotely restore or delete your data.
Widgets and language settings
Add Daek using the system Home Screen widget controls. Nutrition is optional: use Settings → Show nutrition in widgets. Widget refresh timing is controlled by iOS/iPadOS and may be delayed. Choose English, ไทย or System in Settings → Language, and grams/milliliters or US units in Display units.
Restoring data on another device
Daek has no account, cloud sync or backup service. Its protected journal, photos and widget files are marked as excluded from device backup. Keep CSV exports if you need an external record; Daek does not provide an import/restore feature in this release.
