Effective: 2026-10-02
This policy describes how Daek for iPhone and iPad, support correspondence and the pages at pimth.com/daek/ handle information. Website and email services operate separately from the app.
1. Information kept in the app
Daek stores information you choose to enter locally to maintain your food journal: meal names, dates and times, notes, portions, water volumes, nutrition values, food references, optional photos, unfinished drafts and analysis results. An optional profile can contain weight, height, sex, self-reported ethnicity and a daily energy target. Preferences include language, appearance, display units, energy visibility and widget settings. Local identifiers support saving and recovery.
There is no user account, advertising, tracking or analytics SDK. Daek does not send journal entries, profile information or photos to a developer server. Pimth cannot access your local journal.
2. Camera and on-device analysis
Camera permission is requested when you choose the camera flow. You control permission in system Settings. Saved images are re-encoded without copying original EXIF/GPS metadata. Daek does not automatically save captured photos to your Photos library. Photo assistance uses Apple's on-device system models; photo and journal content are processed on your device, not uploaded by Daek to a developer or external AI service. System model availability and downloads are managed by Apple and your device settings.
3. Storage, widgets and backups
Journal, profile and photo files are stored in the app's protected local storage. Optional widget nutrition uses a small local snapshot shared with Daek's widget through an App Group on the same device. You can opt out of nutrition display and hide energy. Home Screen widgets may be visible to someone using or viewing your device; widget refresh timing is managed by the OS.
Daek does not provide cloud sync or a developer-hosted backup. Its journal, profile, photo and widget files are marked as excluded from device backup. Preference settings are managed by the OS separately. Do not rely on automatic backup for your journal. CSV export provides an external record, not an import/restore feature.
4. Export, retention and deletion
Data remains locally until you edit/delete it, remove the app, or the system manages storage. Settings → Export CSV lets you choose an external destination and whether to include source evidence. The selected destination's own privacy and retention rules apply. Daek cleans up its temporary export files after sharing is dismissed and on the next launch; copies delivered elsewhere remain there.
Settings → Delete all data removes local journal entries, drafts, app photos, profile information and the shared widget snapshot. If deletion is interrupted, the app attempts to finish it on startup; follow any retry message. Deletion cannot be undone. Previously exported/shared files and system-held copies must be managed separately. Pimth cannot remotely restore or delete your journal.
5. Support correspondence
Email sent to support@pimth.com includes your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to respond and investigate reported issues. Email providers process correspondence under their own policies. Send only what is necessary. Contact the same mailbox to ask about or request deletion of retained correspondence, subject to legal obligations or necessary retention.
6. This website
For information about website requests, browser preferences and support correspondence, see the Pimth website privacy policy. Visiting this website does not send your journal or photos from the app.
7. Updates and contact
This page and effective date will be updated if information handling changes. For privacy questions or support-correspondence requests, contact Pimth at support@pimth.com.
